Course objectives
The main objectives of the course is acquainting students with the history of the 17th Century Flemish Painting and with the oeuvre of some of its main representatives, most of all with the pictorial heritage of the Peter Paul Rubens.

  • 4. Life and works of Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640)
  • 5. Further great 17th Century Flemish Painters, eg. Anthonis van Dyck, Jacob Jordaens, Jan I Brueghel, David II Teniers and the main specializations - history painting, portrait painting, genre painting, landscape and architecture painting, still-life painting, animal painting, art collections painting).
