Prerequisites (in Czech)
Duševní zdraví a ochota číst texty z teorie divadla, občas i v cizích jazycích, zejm. v němčině. Kurz je určen pro studenty magisterského studia NEBO pro odvážné a pokročilé bakaláře. Podmínkou účasti je, že frekventanti nejen rozečetli, ale i dočetli Zichovu Estetiku.

Course objectives
Students will be able to interpret Zich's Aesthetics of Dramatics Art in historical and non-historical contexts. They will have deeper understanding of beginning of (Czech) theatre theory.
Syllabus
  • In seminar different contexts of Zich's Esthetics of dramatic Art will be discussed:
  • 1. Zich's previous texts (mainly musicology?)
  • 2. Zich's lectures and his students (not only Mukařovský, but Frejka, Kouřil etc.)
  • 3. Reception of EDU (reviews of first edition of EDU)
  • 4. Beginings of german Theaterwissenschapf and Zich
  • 5. Zich and puppet theatre in historical context
  • 6. Historical context - psychology(Volkelt?), literary science, philosophy (Husserl)
  • 7. Contexts of theatre: what he could saw from Czech and foreign theatre
  • 8. Thinking about theatre at that time in Czechia (Šalda, Vodák Tille etc.)
