Course objectives
The aim of the course is to study the phenomenon known as the Second Theatre Reform (Braun) and the accompanying changes in the function and understanding of the theatre. The student will understand the new conception of the theatre space and acting, learn of the most important representatives of the movement, the theatre groups and productions of the period. The focus is predominantly on the founding generation of the 1970s and their immediate followers until about 1985. The everpresent liminal frissions on the borderlines of individual art make it possible to reflect the stress on dance and the visual arts given to the theatre and giving rise to the New Circus. Czech reception of the phenomenon is also covered by the lecture.
