Studying of Czech medieval plays with a special focus to Mastičkář.

Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to put Czech medieval plays into the kontext of European theatre adn to interpret the most inmportant Czech Text, Mastičkář, on the background of medieval culture.
Syllabus
  • Concept of medieval history and concept of medieval theatre,
  • The role of the Churche and monastery,
  • New beginning (Bible and liturgy),
  • Liturgical drama,
  • Czech bilingual plays,
  • Mastičkář and Secunda pastorum.
