Course objectives
Breakeage period in history Czech theatre, searching new expression for theatre like independent, creative and individual space in Habsburkian monarchy, new possibilities and their resulting realization, two pivotal personalities of Czech dramatic production - Klicpera and Tyl.
Syllabus
  • 1. Organization, introduction. 2. Context and era. 3. Development Czech theatre in era national revival 4. Entrance J.N.Stepanek and his influence over Czech dramatic production. 5. Looking for original Czech dramatic performance. 6. Romantic genre in dramatic production. 7. Dramatic art in the period of Czech romanticism. Scenic campaign. 8. Historical plays written by V.K.Klicpera 9. Klicpera s comedy and farce. Their best-major realization on Czech stage. 10 . Joseph Kajetan Tyl. Fable and reality. 11. Tyl s historical plays. Drahomira. 12. Tyl like author popular farce, comic and her with fabulous motive. 13. End.
