- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introduce students to a specific metodological approach to the research of theatricality. Students will study texts dealing with symbolic action in everyday interactions - ritualized acts at microsociolgical level - and discuss Erving Goffman's book "The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life". At the end of the course students will have an overview of contemporary approaches to the research of everydayness and should understand the role of theatricality in human culture as well as be able to analyse the theatrical aspects of everyday interactions.
