Course objectives
The main aim of this course is to introduce Tankred Dorst's drama Merlin, to contextualize the play as well as to map its sources and analyze its performances. Students will learn how to analyze drama and performance. It is primarily meant for the third year students and master's degree.

  • Dramas by Tankred Dorst Themes and topics in his drama Merlin. Formal aspects (language, strucure, how it works with time and space) Sources and versions (Twain, Cocteau, etc.) Merlin in movies. Performances (Krobot, Mikulášek, Gombár, etc.)
