Course objectives
The institution of a monogamy, that is a practice and circumstance to be married to one at a time and a distinctive feature as well as "the highest wager of our culture" (Paul Ricoeur). The reading and discussing several works of classical literature will give an opportunity to appreciate just the aesthetic validity of marriage (non only ethical, economic, or civil dignity) in our age of divorce and fear from commitment.
Syllabus
