Course objectives
The course focuses mainly on the problems of theory of art from analytical point of view (definition of art, interpretation, congitivism, emotional response, pictoral representation etc.). Ideal student will be able to understand articles; use a basic aesthetic vocabulary and evaluate text.

Teaching methods
The method is of three sorts: 1. Introduction to the topic and commented reading of fundamental texts of analytical aesthetics; 2. students presents their own reports on given subjects; 3. discussion on reports and reading. Lectures which requires homework preparation in reading the assigned study literature. After teacher's presentation of the general and particular features of the subject, students are guided to interpretation of the chosen extracts, and class discussions follow.
Assessment methods
Requirements for the successful completion of the course are as follows: 1. presenting a paper; 2. final written test; 3. activity in the seminar.
