Course objectives
The course is designed to deepen skills of critical reading and thinking about the aesthetic reflection of art, with special emphasis on the second half of the twentieth century. A substantial part is own critical writing.

  • 1. Interpretation of an artwork as a prerequisite of its evaluation
  • 2. Author's interpretation of an artwork, intentional fallacy and relevance of information
  • 3. Art historical reflection and art criticism
  • 4. Aesthetic Judgment / Aesthetic attitude, evaluation and criticism
