Course objectives
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the ethnic situation in the territory of Czechoslovakia / Czech Republic, not only with the four recognized nationalities before 1989, but to provide a more comprehensive picture of the issue. Lectures also cover political, work and study migration in the country before 1989. At the end of the course the student will be able to understand the terminology of ethnic and minority issues, ethnicity, national and ethnic minorities and will not the basic laws.

  • Syllabus: 1st Terminology. 2nd Ethnic minorities and nationalities recognized before 1989. 3rd Ethnic situation before 1989 without an official nationality / ethnic minorities. 4th Ethnic minorities in the Czech Republic. 5th Unrecognized national minority. 6th Legislation.
