Course objectives
The course is an advanced level of ethnological research in the field or institutions of memory. This course can continue on research project of Institute of European Ethnology.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this tutorial, the student will master the more-advanced research methods in ethnology, he/she will be able to identify suitable sources and to analyse them; using adequate methodological procedures corresponding to the research theme, the student will be able to carry out his/her own field research.
Syllabus
  • To be implemented upon a consultation with Institute´s research fellows as to their disciplinary specialization and in connection to the theme of the aktual current research projects or of the bachelor´s thesis.
  • 1. Definition of the research theme, selection of appropriate research methods.
  • 2. Identification of sources, selection of respondents.
  • 3. Study of literature and source materials.
  • 4. Research execution, assessment of received data.
  • 5. Preparation of a research report, consultation on the report content.
