Course objectives
A research seminar for undergraduate and graduate students depends on (a) close analytical reading of several thematically connected theoretical texts, (b) critical reading of broader discussions to which these articles entered.
Learning outcomes
The student will learn (a) to critically read and to analyze argumentation of a theoretical film studies texts, (b) to see these articles in circumstances of a broader film theory debates, (c) to formulate his/her commentaries in the form of written home works and also oral presentations.
Syllabus
  • The seminar consists of a series of readings and home-works (so-called reading cards about different aspects of argumentation and application of specific terms) on the one hand and seminar presentations and discussions on the other hand.
Teaching methods
Regular hand over of so-called reading cards, seminar presentations or discussions, obligatory attendance at seminars, the final essay.
Assessment methods
Fulfilling requirements requires necessary: (a) to prepare all of the so-called reading cards, (b) to have seminar presentations, (c) to participate in seminar discussions and (d) to be attended at all of the seminars. The written examination also requires the writing of an essay.
