Course objectives
The aim of the course is a research of reflections of the year 1968 in media. The course is connected with a cycle of films to the 50th anniversary of the reform year 1968 within Student cinema in the University cinema Scala.
Learning outcomes
In the end of the course the student will be able to:
understand the events of the reform year 1968 in Czechoslovakia
analyse fiction and documentary films connected with those events
confront contemporary and later medial reflection of those events

  • Czech and Slovak film and tv productions of 1968-69
  • International context, student and protest movement around the world
  • So called crisis period in the normalization cinema
  • 1968-69 in Czech and Slovak post-November cinema
