Course objectives
The course will focus on the Czech-born filmmakers who emigrated after the Munich Pact of 1938 and after the Communist coup d'état of 1948: Karel Lamač, Hugo Haas, Alexander Hackenschmied, Jiří Weiss, František Čáp, Ladislav Brom etc. Literature: Voráč, Jiří (2004): Český film v exilu. Brno: Host. Films: to be specified. Assessment: written test.
