Course objectives
An introduction to the theory and methodology of film history research. The form of seminar meetings in smaller groups of students should provide enough space for getting familiar with different approaches to historical research. Learning process will be based on reading at home and following discussion in group.
Main objective:
to understand the basic of theory of historical research and to be able to use main methodologies of film history research.

  • Introduction to the study of cinema history.
  • Methods of research and approaches to the cinema history.
  • How to write about cinema history.
