Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: (a) understand and explain concepts of narrative theories from different perspectives, (b) compare and sum up this theories on the base of their application for particular types of analysis.
Syllabus
  • History of theoretical concepts of narrative analysis, in which they will be explored from different perspectives: (a) history of thinking about film and television, (b) history of analytical perspectives (narration, narrator, viewer), (c) relation between narrative and style in particular audio/visual art forms (film fiction, television serial fiction), (d) historiographical potential of each narrative theory.
