Course objectives
Students will participate in the completion of a database and web application dedicated to the history of film production in Zlín/Gottwaldov. They will get acquainted with the rules of processing various types of information (filmography, interviews, published texts, archival materials). They will gain experience with the implementation of a complex and unique database and web application. They will have the opportunity to test the web application when it is presented to the public. Understand the possibilities of data visualization for teaching and research purposes.
The seminar is suitable for both first-year students (who will gradually learn to work with various sources relevant to the field of study) and more experienced students (who can apply their ability to write more complex texts, such as biographies of authors, or test possible topics for an undergraduate thesis). The results of the seminar will become part of a publicly presented and discussed web application during the seminar.
