- Course objectives
- The course should introduce students to queer cinema through active participation at the 20th Mezipatra International Film Festival.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the module students will:
- understand key concepts such as "queer sensibility" or "queer reading"
- be able to identify key films and authors of queer cinema
- be familiar with current production in the queer cinema category through competition section at the Mezipatra IFF - Syllabus
- - One lecture dedicated to queer cinema basics prior to MFF Mezipatra in Brno
- - Screenings of films in competition section at Mezipatra IFF (15. - 22. 11.)
- - Seminar reflecting on films seen during the festival, together with a group of students from Theatre, Film and Media Studies from the University in Vienna
- Teaching methods
- Opening lecture introducing the concept of queer cinema, participation at the screenings during Mezipatra IFF and a final seminar reflecting and discussing the 20th edition of the festival.
