Course objectives
Survey of French literature from the 18th century to our time. Principal periods, authors and works.
Syllabus
  • 1. French romanticism. 2. From ralism to naturalism and to experimental novel. 3. Poetry in the second half of the 19th century. 4. Prose and poetry in the beginning of the 20th century.. 5. New tendences between 1920 and 1940 (surrealism and novel). 6. Existencialism. 7. Prose, poetry and thetre in the second half of the 20th century.

Teaching methods
Lecture: description of the literary field, explanation and definition of basic notions and their demonstration on concrete texts by concrete authors. Seminar: Application of the acquired theoretical knowledge on authentic texts. In the form of a presentation the students show their capability to connect their theoretical knowledge while working with a concrete text.
Assessment methods
Examination - written test and oral exam.

General note: Pro zápis do předmětu nutno úspěšně absolvovat zápočet z FJIA012. Přednost u zápisu mají posluchači romanistických oborů.
