Course objectives
The aim of the course is to evaluate critically the postmodern philosophical and epistemological position, according to which there is no substantial difference between the fictional and the historical narrative, and to explain an alternative position based on possible-worlds semantics.
Syllabus
  • Po dlouhou dobu nadvlády mimetické doktriny byla díla fikční literatury v podstatěpovažována za beletrizovanou historii. V postmoderní filozofii a dějinách kultury bylo rozhraničení mezi fikcí a historií napadeno z druhé strany, ze strany literární a textové teorie. Roland Barthes a Hayden White se proslavili tezí, že neexistují žádné textové přznaky, které by nám umožnily rozlišit mezi fikčním a historickým narativem. Jejich teze, vyvozená z analýzy textů historie byla posílena odvoláním na radikálně konstruktivistickou filozofii jazyka, která anuluje vztah reference a upírá jazyku schopnost zobrazovat svět. Těžiště kursu bude v rozpracování sémantiky možných světů.Nemenší pozornost bude věnována analýze vybraných fikčních a historických děl postmoderny, které tvořivým způsobem pěstují živou intertextuální výměnu mezi literaturou a historiografií.

Pozadavky k udeleni zapoctu: > 1. Ucast. 2. Aktivita v seminarich - zodpovězení otazek, ucast v diskusi. 3. Kratky ustni pohovor na zaver kursu (budou > probihat od 27.do 30. rijna bud individualne nebo v malych > skupinach). Kazdy student si pro pohovor pripravi jednu specifickou > otazku vztahu mezi fikci a historii a prokaze schopnost pojednat o ni > v pojmoslovi, ktere bylo rozpracovano v kursu. > >
