Course objectives
Internal political developments in Western European countries between 1918 and the beginning of World War II, the after effects of World War I in Central and Eastern Europe, new constitutional and political systems, international relations, the development of economic and social structures in Europe. Developments from 1945 to the beginning of the 1990s, the Cold War, decolonization, European integration, Austria and the western zone of Germany, the Sovietization of Central and South-Eastern Europe, the last phases of Stalin's regime, the USSR between attempts at reform and neo-Stalinism, internal exhaustion of Soviet-style regimes.
