Course objectives
The history of the Czechoslovak Republic from its origin to 1945. The origin of the independent state, the development of the political system, Czechoslovak foreign policies, the ethnic composition of the ČSR, the economy and the economic crisis, Munich, the Second Republic and the occupation of Czechoslovakia. The resistance movement during World War II, the liberation of the ČSR, relations between the ČSR and the Superpowers, the so-called Third Republic, February 1948, political show trials in the 1950s, the building of socialism.
