Course objectives
The concept of the industrial revolution, basic sources and literature, the inclusion of the Czech Lands into the process of capitalistic industrialization in the Central European region, textile manufacturing: wool, flax and cotton, iron working, engineering works, coal mining, glass works and sugar mills, railway transportation as a precondition for the industrial revolution.

  • 1. Hlavní prameny a literatura k tématu. 2. Pojem průmyslové revoluce v historické literatuře. 3. Textilní průmysl ve střední Evropě v 1. pol. 19. století. 4. Význam využití parního stroje v průmyslové revoluci. 5. Úloha cizích odborníků v průmyslové revoluci. 6. Vlnařský průmysl se zaměřením na oblast Brna a Liberce. 7. Bavlnářský průmysl a jeho oblasti v českých zemích. 8. Lnářský průmysl se zaměřením na Trutnovsko a Šumpersko. 9. Hedvábnictví a zpracování juty v průmyslové revoluci. 10. Textilní strojírenství. 11. Železářství, hutnictví a uhelné hornictví. 12. Cukrovarnictví jako příklad potravinářského průmyslu. 13. Otázky dopravy a budování železnic.
