Course objectives
The aim of the course is to explain the general context that led to the creation of Western Christian countries in the Holy Land.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- explain the reasons for convening the First Crusade to the Holy Land;
- explain the differences between Eastern and Western Christianity;
- explain the perception of Christians in the Muslim world;
- explain the perception of Muslims in the Christian world;
- describe the possibilities and limits of medieval western expansion;
- place the Crusades in historical discourse;
