Course objectives
The Tolerance Patent constituted in lives of secret Protestants (but not only in theirs) in Moravia cardinal importance and change. Recently established evangelical congregations had a need of new predicants and pastors. The absence of well-educated pastors in Moravia ment, that it was necessary to invite pastors from abroad – especially from Hungary. Michael Blažek was an exception. He was a well-educated man with an excellent knowledge of Czech language, who had a great authority and aristocratic connections. Michael Blažek had been since 1784 to 1827 the first superintendent (senior of moravian Reformed Protestants). What was the community at the head of he stood?
Seminar is focused on the work with authentic texts as well as on the „second life“of exact historical period in the variable media types (including films and videos). Seminar is going to be completed with the extensions of guests – experts at the discussed topics. Finally yet importantly, students will take part in the preparation of exhibition of evangelical popular art.
