Course objectives
The objective of this course is to acquaint students with the contemporary Italian literature, i. e. with the last 15 years in fiction, with wider chronogical context in poetry. At the end of this course, students will be able to orientate themselves in the contemporary Italian literature, in its genres, its most interesting authors and its movements. In the same time students will train their interpretation abilities and expressing their own critical opinions in spoken and written language.

Assessment methods
Student will have to read at home selected texts for each lesson. In some cases a couple of students will analyse a particular aspect of text. The interpretation activity will make part of evaluation. Students will write a review of a book from contemporary Italian literature chosen by themselves. Final oral exam is based on discussion of the review, of the relation between the book and texts read on lessons, of individual critical approach and on critical conclusions.
