Course objectives
In this course students are introduced to a number of core concepts about the research methods and results in different fields of Italian studies: textual criticism, Italian linguistics, history of Italian literature, history of Italian language, Italian dialectology, etc. Every class focuses on peculiar topics. Students have to acquire basic knowledge in the field of Italian studies, but also to get in touch with first-hand research (as the lectures will be given by prominent researchers) and research methods. Since the topics dealt with change every semester, the students can follow this course repetitively. The topic of the course depends on the research programme of the teachers and the guest lecturers.
