Course objectives
The aim of this course is to develop written and oral abilities by means of original texts and materials at level B2 of language according to CEFR.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the students will be able to -talk about past events and historical events -understand connections among verb tenses in a text -express opinions, feelings, douts, awkwardness, hopes -understand and use figures of speech Structures: -relative pronouns - verbal tenses and moods (indicative, conditional, subjunctive) -indefinite adjectives and pronouns -hypothetical period
Syllabus
  • Conversation, grammar exercises and focus on communicative skills. The course is taught by using a communicative teaching approach with the use of original texts and other material in order to make students learn Italian language in use.

Teaching methods
Lessons are of a practical nature: participation in class activities - pair work, group work, audio and video activities, presentations - is required. Work to be completed at home will be regularly offered. Class activities (grammar exercises, reading of selected passages from contemporary fiction and linguistic analysis at a lexical, morphological and textual level, listening, written and oral production). The work done at home mainly consists of preparation for the oral part of the final evaluation: reading and analysis of the chosen passage. The materials will be made available in the computer system or distributed during lessons.
Assessment methods
Attendance is compulsory (min. 75%) The final examination consists of a written and an oral tests. The oral test is accessed once the written paper has been passed.
