The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
Working with spoken Italian corpora.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to look for specific language structures and observe language use.
Syllabus
Main corpora of Italia. Spoken Italian corpora. Learning methods of querying. Seminars held by guest lecturers are also to be included in the course content: (a) Online and in-presence seminars on Mondays from 16:00 to 18:00. Minimum attendance: 80%. Alternatively, substitute study materials must be agreed with the lecturer in order to pass the final exam. (b) Programme lectures. Activities common to the whole degree programme (therefore not necessarily about linguistics). On these occasions, other activities will be suspended. Activities already on the calendar: - 30.09 (all day, room 343) and 01.10 (morning, deanery meeting room, to be confirmed) Conference "Developing new languages in migration contexts - 13 October 16:00-18:00 and Tuesday 14 October 16:00-18:00 (deanery meeting room), prof. Matteo Di Figlia (University of Palermo) Seminars on ‘Il fascismo italiano: 1919-1943’ (Teaching materials will be provided prior to the seminars) The full calendar of type (a) and type (b) activities will be communicated at the beginning of the semester.
