The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The aim of this course is to put the student into contact with the main text types (description, narration, exposition, instruction, argumentation) following E. Werlich's distinction. The course is aimed at developing an articulate awareness of the main themes of sentence syntax (simple and complex) and its relationship to textuality.
Learning outcomes
At the emd of the course the students will be able to - identify the different text types and genres; - write different kind of text forms; - use appropriate syntax and lexis.
Syllabus
  • The course is mostly online, held in the ELF platform. The students will find video-tutorials and more than 50 activities for practising reading comprehension, text analysis and written production. During the semester there will be four workshop-like classes. More specific information are in ELF.

Teaching methods
Online course on ELF platform PLUS 4 class meetings (the student will receive information ontime).
Assessment methods
The student has to complete the ELF online course before the semester finishes (at least two weeks before the end of the semester). Final written text (2 hours).
