Course objectives
The objectives of the course are the analysis of the notion of linguistic variety, the study of individual and social repertoires, as well as the Italian linguistic space and Italian. Monographic topics will also be addressed, which may include: linguistic landscapes, autobiographical narration (also as a data collection tool), Italian in immigration and emigration.
Learning outcomes
The student will learn to identify the linguistic features of the varieties of Italian and to use the instruments of the discipline. Attendance at least 80% of the lessons is required. The course content includes the insights offered through the linguistics seminars in ROM2B106 Research Seminar - Guest Lecturers Series (B). Students may therefore register for the whole course or participate as auditors in the linguistics seminars only (in both cases, they will receive the materials provided by the lecturers). Alternatively, it will be necessary to agree on a topic for the writing of a paper, the evaluation of which will contribute to the definition of the final grade.
