Course objectives
The course represents an introduction to problem of multimedia in a broader context of art manifestos and their concrete application. Although multimedia seem to be rooted in the realm of digital media in 1980's, in a broader "archaeological" sense we can track the basic principles back to artistic and theoretical approaches of 19th century.

  • 2. Synaesthesia - from inborn disposition to metaphor.
  • 3. Richard Wagner and Artwork of the Future. Italian futurism and aesthetics of simultaneous media.

Lectures on (multi)media art of 20th century. Reading of the basic essays, training theoretical skills in media art interpretation.
