Course objectives
According to the European Commission, every citizen needs digital competence in order to be able to actively exercise their citizenship. We will focus primarily on what specific digital competencies we find in the DigComp model, what to imagine under them, and also on how to integrate them into the life and educational activities of libraries. The development of digital competencies in the library is an essential pillar in building a democratic open civil society The aim of the course is a systematic reflection on how individual parts of the competence framework DigComp 2.1 can be implemented in the library environment and in the educational practice of libraries.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- work with DigComp 2.1 framework;
- design educational activities according to the individual dimensions of the framework;
- set a library education strategy with regard to citizens' digital competencies;
- understand and appreciate the importance of digital competencies for the development of civil society.
