Course objectives
The course starts with the introduction of hiragana and katakana, approximately 200 of the most elementary Japanese character kanji will also be introduced during the semester. Students will be able to read and write Japanese on simple everyday topics at the end of the course. Regular class attendance is complulsory.
Learning outcomes
After a succcessful completion of the course student will be able to:
- actively write and read Japanese syllabary alphabets hiragana and katakana;
- read and understand basic Japanese sentences;
- write, read and understand the meaning of basic Japanese characters.
