Course objectives
Slovenian/Croatian/Serbian/Bulgarian language course focused on broadening of vocabulary, knowledge of grammar and achieving desired language competence.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course students should be able to describe new grammar phenomena acquired in this semester and use the knowledge in spoken and written interaction. By the means of acquiring new vocabulary and grammar they can create text or speak about related topics. Students are able to understand written text and interpret it.
Syllabus
  • Slovenian:
  • Topics: daily conversations, travel, my home, my family, my hobbies, school, and the Slovenian school and educational system. Grammar: different forms of verbs: infinitive, supine, participle, imperative; modal verbs, noun declension peculiarities, gradation of adjectives, adverbs, verbs, and word order.
  • Croatian:
  • Masculine nouns (type orao, cvijet, vijek, završetak), neutral nouns, feminine nouns, collective nouns, comparation of adjectives and adverbs, relative pronouns, infinite pronous, numerals, propositions, future tense, word order, conditional sentences.
  • Serbian:
  • Syllabus corresponds to the structure of language on the level in the textbook Srpski jezik za strance. Repetition of declination types, practicing present, future and past tense, practicing imperative, conditional and passive sentences, present participle, specific declination types and exceptions. Texts: At the doctor's. Belgrade's neighbourhood. Trip to Fruška Gora. At the concert. Presents. At the post office.
  • Bulgarian:
  • Lection on history. Numerals, perfect and plusquamperfekt tense. Bulgarians in Czechia and Czechs in Bulgaria. Conditionals, passive voice. Life of young family. Grammatical aspect and declension of selected verbs. In few days. Rection of verbs, direct and indirect object, prepositions with verbs. Do you have any post? Using of perfective verbs in some types of sentences, verbs of movement and prepositions to them.

Teaching methods
Seminar (four hours per week), home preparation, in the seminar a combination of teacher-led activities and student-centered/group learning activities will be employed.
Assessment methods
Regular attendance, homework and home preparation required. Upon fulfilling all requirements listed the students must pass a final test.

SLOVINŠTINA:

Students can order the textbook and workbook from their Slovene language lecturer at the beginning of the semester. At the end of the semester, they will take a written and oral exam.
