Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce foreign students coming for a short-term study stay to the current scientific focus of the department in the form of lectures and workshops of staff and lecturers.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to see the current state of research in the field of contemporary Czech Croatian and Balkan studies.
Syllabus
  • Sightseeing tour of Brno with expert commentary
  • lecture "Croatian War Comics"
  • lecture "Cyril and Methodius - new perspectives in 21st century"
  • "The Image of Yugoslavia in Contemporary Croatia"
  • workshop on conversation and communication with students of Croatian language
  • ONLINE LECTURE "Swearing in Czech and Croatian language"
  • The online lecture will take place after the students' return to Croatia and will follow the course programme completed in Brno with a linguistic theme, so the students will gain insight into practical and theoretical linguistic, literary and historiographical Croatian and Balkan studies cultivated at the Faculty of Arts MU.

Lectures, workshops, guided tour, discussion.
Assessment methods
The student is obliged to work actively during the lessons.
