Course objectives
The move-up exam consists of a written and an oral part; a student takes both parts in the same exam period. The exam begins with the written part.
Syllabus
  • Active knowledge of Greek vocabulary and normative grammar (extent of 20 lessons of the prescribed textbook W. Heilmann - K. Roeske - R. Walther Lexis. Einführung in die griechische Sprache, Diesterweg, Frankfurt am Main 1972.
  • Passive knowledge of the phonology and morphology according to the prescribed publication J. Niederle - V. Niederle - L. Varcl Mluvnice řeckého jazyka, SPN Praha 1974.
  • General knowledge of the development of Greek literature and the awareness of its connections with the main developments in Roman literature.
  • Thorough knowledge of the required readings (Xenophon: Cyrou paideia - 1st book).
