Course objectives
The Latin language and literature at the end of the Classic period, the cultural situation of medieval Europe in the early Middle Ages; Latin as the language of the Middle Ages; medieval Latin poetry and prose (secular and religious); classical and medieval culture from the Church Fathers to Renaissance humanism; readings, an overview and examples of selected literary and diplomatic texts.
