Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with modern Hebrew language (ivrit), as it is commonly used in the State of Israel today. During the lessons, students will learn the basic grammar and vocabulary of this language, they will be able to try a simple conversation. The course will focus on the practical use of modern Hebrew in everyday situations.
Learning outcomes
After completing this course, the student will be able: • To read Hebrew alphabeth with or without vocalization • Numerals • Personal pronouns • Interrogative pronouns • Everyday phrases • Master basic conversation in modern Hebrew • Read simple Hebrew inscriptions

Teaching methods
The course will include an explanation of the basic grammar of modern Hebrew and an introduction to conversation.
Assessment methods
Text preparation for lessons (interpretation, short translations, reading of materials before the lesson etc.), 60% attendance, presentation on a chosen topic.
