Course objectives
Main objectives of the course can be summarized as follows: to acquire the basic knowledge of the Spanish grammar and lexis (determinants, system of tenses etc); to be able to perform a simple conversation (argumentation, defence of ones own opinion, writing an administrative letter, curriculum vitae, etc.).
Syllabus
  • Vocabulary.
  • Particular everyday conversational situations (selection from the textbooks Tiempo, Turismo).
  • Historical, cultural and social background of Spain and Spanish speaking countries.
  • Spanish newspaper articles and literary texts.
  • Spanish records.

Teaching methods
Vocabulary is deepened by both textbooks and selected situations of everyday conversation (e. g. Tiempo, Turismo). The knowledge of the historical, cultural and social background will be gained by reading Spanish newspaper articles and literary texts. Spanish records will be listened to during the classes as well.
Assessment methods
Regular attendance and active participation in the course. Individual reading. Written test.
