Course objectives
The main objectives of the course are the following:
acquainting students with making of museum collection;
prepare a collection plan of museum;
information about collecting programmes in abroad;
Syllabus
  • Basic terms: collector, collecting, museum object, museum collection, collecting in museums, museum.
  • Private collecting and museum collecting
  • Subject of collecting. Theory of selection. Theory of tesauration.
  • Collecting - process, methods, view-point.
  • Collecting and its problems in connection with condition of museum collections.
  • Collections and its scientific treatment.
  • SAMDOK, ecomuseology, new museology,documentation of minorities.
  • Condition of museum collection in present time and collecting in future.
