Course objectives
The main subjectives of the course are the following:
making students aware history of museum exhibition and its specificity;
acquainting students with cours of preparation and realisation of exhibitions;
making students aware of technical part of exhibitions;
Syllabus
  • Introduction, general exhibition design as part of human activities.
  • History of exhibition design, basic periods of general exhibition design.
  • International exhibitions in 2. half of 19. century, Jubilee exhibition 1891, Ethnographical exhibition 1985.
  • General exhibition design between World's Wars, Exhibition of contemporaray culture 1928 in Brno. Exhibition design after 1945.
  • New trends in general exhibition design.
  • Birth and basic periods of museum exhibition design.
  • General exhibition design and museum presentation.
  • Museum exhibition design and its specificity.
  • Forms of museum exhibition design.
  • Methodology of formation of museum exhibition design.
  • Contemporary museum exhibition design in Czech Republic and abroad and its. perspective.
  • Technical part of museum exhibitinos - showcases, lighting, design, texts;
  • Handicapped visitors
