Course objectives
The course of lectures concentrates on summary the problems of an auxiliary linguistic discipline - phonetics. Its aim is to help students see the importance od phonetics for the understanding of language, to clarify the meaning of commonly used terms, and to interpretaation of scientific information. The students will get familiar with the Dutch sound system in the practical part of the course and will focus on the pronunciation training.

  • I. Phonetics, int position in lingiustic sciens.
  • II. Spoken and written language, its funktion and relationships.
  • III. Phonetic transcription, ist principles and types.
  • IV. Metods of phonetic analysis of speech.
  • V. The biological basis of speech.
  • VI. Articulation; place and aspect of articulation; articulatory co-ordination and phonetic settings.
  • VII. Vocoid segments. Vocoid articulation.
  • VIII. Consonants; consonants system.
  • IX. Acoustic level of speech.
  • X. The prosodic organisation of speech.
  • XI. The metrical and temporal organisation of speech.
  • XII. Intersegmental articulatory co-ordination.

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Výuka probíhá formou přednášky vyvětlující pojmy, na přednášku navazuje seminář s rosilou mluvčí nizozemštiny. . Po absolvování přednášky má zkouška formu písemného textu, látka semináře se zkouší společně s jazykovým kursem nizozemštiny pro začátečníky.. For the practical part (Nele Rampart)there is no written exam. The evaluation is based on the participation in the lessons. (max. absence:2 X)
