Course objectives
The seminar is addressed to teacher training students who already have an insight into German-language literature from the literary studies courses of the Master's cycle. The seminar teaches current methods of literature didactics for German as a foreign language, their theoretical foundations and practical implementation in the context of teaching GFL at secondary schools in the Czech Republic. A broad concept of literature is used as a basis, which, in addition to various literary genres, also includes other aesthetic media, such as graphic novels and auditive literature. The focus is on an approach to literature and aesthetic media that uses a literary approach to language for foreign language learning.
Learning outcomes
The students gain basic insight into the medial, literary and discursive nature of literary texts and aesthetic media. They know different approaches and methods of literature didactics. They can analyse literary texts and aesthetic media under a didactical perspective and are able to create and critically reflect own teaching concepts and designs.
