Course objectives
The aim is to work towards level B1 of the Common European Framework for Language. For this purpose, the communicative method Contact (part 2) is used, a text book for Dutch for highly educated non-native speakers. The students' lexical and grammatical knowledge is deepened and all skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) are practiced.
Learning outcomes
The student performs at B1 level in terms of listening, reading, speaking and writing.

Teaching methods
6 hours of seminars. Using interactive exercises, new vocabulary and grammar (which students acquire partly at home and partly during the seminars) is practiced. Tasks are given during class and as homework to practice productive and receptive skills.
Assessment methods
Evaluation of different tasks during the semester. Condition for participation in the exam: submit all tasks on time and, if desired, hand in a second version + presence and active cooperation.
Two written tests during the semester.
A written exam at the end of the term.
