Course objectives
The course introduces the students to the actual linguistic situation in Scandinavia in synchrony perspective. It gives the ground for all liquistic disciplines in the curricula, the basic linguistic terms and methods. The focus is on the structuralistic aspects of linguistic studies.
Learning outcomes
Student has a solid overview over language situation in Scandinavia today, can handle with linguistic terminology, understanding the basic branches of linguistics, can applicate the regules for general linguistic analysis in the view of Scanadinavian languages.

  • Fonology, etymology, semantics, pragmatics in overview
  • German languages, North German languages
  • Different aspect - different methods in the branch
  • Language discipline in norway in history and contemporary
  • Norwegian language history in bird perspective
  • Geographical and social differences of Norwegian today
