Course objectives
Lectures and seminars of lexikology concentrate on the stratifikation of vocabulary and word formation in Norwegian.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course students will be able to: characterize lexicology and its methods; to summarize the specificities of the Norwegian lexicon and its development; describe productive word formation principles in Norwegian; analyze text in Norwegian with a focus on vocabulary and word formation.
Syllabus
  • 1. Leksikologi - deling og terminologi. 2. Språklige varianter. Diakroni og synkroni. 3. Noen viktigste skriveregler - små og store bokstaver, komma, deling av ord. 4. prefikser og suffikser - ordlagingsmuligheter. 5. Utvikling av ordforrådet. 6. Fremmedord i norsk og andre skandinaviske språk. 7. Språklig kompetanse. 8. Metafor og andre språklige virkemidler. 9. Massekomunikasjon. Mediene. 10. Små ord med stor betydning.
