- At the end of the course students will be able to:
reproduce nominal and verbal paradigms studied within the course (see syllabus of the course);
explain grammatical rules studied within the course;
translate a simple self-contained Latin text into Czech. - Syllabus
- This course provides a comprehensive overview of the following grammatical categories:
- Morphology: gerund and gerundive;
- participles;
- supine.
- Syntax: independent uses of the subjunctive mood,
- consecutive clauses;
- participle constructions;
- periphrastic conjugation;
- ablative absolute;
- uses of nominative in subordinate clauses;
- gerundive constructions.

- Lectures, practice (translating, grammar exercises). Regular class attendance and homework are required.
- Assessment methods
- Requirements for credit: regular class attendance (75%) and passing a written test where knowledge of grammar studied during the course is examined. For a graded evaluation, additional oral examination is required.
