Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The course will deal with onomastics as a sub-discipline of linquistics and offer insight into the onomastic research. At the beginning of the course an overview of basic onomastic terms and the classification of proper names will be given. In the other parts specific aspects of onomastic work will be discussed in more detail, especially toponomastics and antroponomastics. Readings of onomastic articles and their reception will be an integral part of the course. At the end of the course students will be able to use onomastic terms, will understand some of the aspects of onomastic work and will be familiar with basic onomastic literature.
